Driverscould face arrestsand removetheir carsifthey keep portion customers, accordingtothe notices.Not surprisingly,the ridesharing firmshave the really opposite opinion. Uber tells Engadgetthatit’s handling the limousine-like usewhichonly needs PUC accedeto operate,and Lyftsaysit’s articulatewiththe Mayor’s bureauto finalisewhatit believesis the“state issue.”For now,we’reatan corner—let’sjust goalthat Los Angeles followsinNew York’s footstepsand triesto strech thehappy medium.
